The Product Development process of clothing and other related items can in itself be a significant and regular cost to companies within the fields of fashion, footwear, sportswear and accessories. The department responsible for design and development has a serious influence on your brand image, customers, licensees, business performance and your ability to increase profits.
Controlling the many influences on the process such as tight time-lines, customer and market demands, internal demands, supplier performance and the associated correspondence, components, branding, ethics, approvals and shipping can be a challenge to any fashion and other organisations at times.
By initiating a Standard Development Process Review you can obtain a fresh and experienced eye on the product creation cycle within your company that will help you make decisions to move that part of your business forward.
The goal of this review is to give you an overview of the strengths and weaknesses within your development process along with recommendations on how to introduce improvements or regain control. Our mentors will for instance include (as appropriate) whether they recommend a cost analysis or if you could benefit from revenue increase through licence or appear to need a PDM or PLM infrastructure.
The review takes place over four working days at your premises. Three working days after the review you will receive your document with our findings and our recommendations on how to improve or resolve each of these.
During the review we will need access to people working in the following area's or departments (as appropriate within the structure of your business):
- Design (or people responsible for the design part of the product development process)
- Development (or people responsible for the operational part of the product development process)
- Technology (or people responsible fore the fit, make, testing and technical aspects of the products and specifications)
- Sourcing and Procurement / Production / Logistics
- Finance
- Sales / Marketing
Who is this service for?
This service is aimed at smaller and medium sized businesses that develop collections or series of products on a regular or seasonal basis. Our key experience is in the fields of clothing / apparel / fashion / footwear / sportswear / accessories, but we are happy to provide the same service for businesses with a similar development cycle.
Once we have processed your order you will be contacted via telephone to discuss pre-project details and to agree which week / days will be the best for our mentor(s) to perform the review for you.
The cost of this package includes four days on site of one of our experienced mentors as well as the document with our overview and recommendations. It does not include travel expenses and subsistence outside of London.
We work internationally. Please note that some countries attract a surcharge due to the travel time or complexity of travel required. Please choose the appropriate option for the correct travel location.
